Is Erectile Dysfunction (ED) Normal After 60?

Is Erectile Dysfunction (ED) Normal After 60?

Unless you’re in the prime of your life and sexuality, you may have started worrying about erectile dysfunction (ED). It’s normal for men to sometimes have trouble achieving or maintaining an erection, but if it becomes a chronic problem, you may have ED.

Usually, ED is associated with increasing age. About 40% of men have ED by age 40. The incidence only increases with age. By age 70, 70% of men have ED, which is defined as problems with erections that have persisted for at least six months.

At Aesthetics, by Dr. Lee in Roseville, California, Dr. Luis Lee doesn’t believe that men should expect or put up with ED just because they’re aging. He offers a number of solutions for ED so you can feel in your prime again.

First, we help you get healthy

Chronic medical and psychological issues can cause or contribute to ED. As part of his ED program, Dr. Lee recommends that you resolve underlying issues that may be affecting your sexual potency, including:

If you’re overweight or obese, he may recommend semaglutide as well as lifestyle adjustments to help you lose weight quickly and safely. Semaglutide and losing weight may help contribute to your overall health.

Sometimes, ED can be the result of personal stress or unresolved trauma. If Dr. Lee determines that emotional distress contributes to your ED, Dr. Lee may refer you to the proper resources.

The P-Shot®

The P-shot, which stands for “Priapus” (god of fertility) shot, can restore your erections and your libido. The P-shot consists of injections of concentrated platelet serum that we make from your own blood.

We draw the blood from your arm in a painless procedure. We then process the blood in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the platelets. We then inject the serum into your shaft.

The PRP helps to build a healthy new blood supply to the region. It also helps your body produce new proteins, such as collagen and elastin, that improve your skin and other tissues. By restoring the penile tissues, the results are stronger erections with improved sensation.

Shockwave therapy

A strong erection depends on healthy, strong blood vessels and penile tissues. As you age, those tissues and vessels start to deteriorate, just like the skin and organs on the rest of your body.

Shockwave therapy uses acoustic waves to stimulate the tissues and blood vessels in your penis. It helps your body heal deterioration and build new blood vessels. A healthy, robust blood supply is essential for achieving an erection in the first place and maintaining it until orgasm.

Shockwave therapy also stimulates collagen in the treatment areas. Collagen is a protein that helps your skin stay strong and youthful for a better appearance and feel.

Bone marrow aspiration therapy

Similar to PRP, bone marrow aspiration (BMA) therapy uses growth components from your own body to rejuvenate your penile tissue and build more and stronger blood vessels. In this case, the cells come from your bone marrow.

Bone marrow contains a special kind of undifferentiated cell that helps your body heal and regenerate. A BMA treatment makes your erections stronger and longer for more satisfaction. This treatment may be recommended if clients are suffering from anatomical/physical concerns and not just a lack of sensation.

P-long

Dr. Lee also offers a 4-6 week P-long program that features six PRP injections spanned 5-6 weeks apart and at-home therapies to increase penis size as well as optimize function. At-home treatments would include a penile pump, which helps elongate the penile tissue to add length, and a tactile device, used to extend the penis during use.

Targeted supplements would also be used to restore balance to your body and encourage an increase in testosterone. Boosting your body’s testosterone production or replacing lost testosterone can improve your libido and your performance.
