Semaglutide Q & A

What is Semaglutide?
Semaglutide is a Glucagon-like Peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist that suppresses your appetite and helps with blood sugar control, leading to less food intake and ultimately weight loss. Our compounded Semaglutide medication comes from our partner pharmacy approved by the California State Board of Pharmacy

How much weight could I expect to lose?
Weight loss will vary between individuals but clinical studies show an average of 15% weight loss by the end of the first year. Patients will continue use on a weekly basis until the client's weight loss goal is achieved or until our medical team deems appropriate.

How is it administered?
A Semaglutide order will come with four vials of medication and syringes. The medication will be self-administered once per week into the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. We recommend alternating between the areas each week, to avoid excessive soreness from injections.

How is Semaglutide stored?
Patients are advised to store away from sunlight, in a fridge when possible. Although not the best ideal option, it is okay to store at room temperature for up to 28 days, between 59-86 degrees F.

How do I know if Semaglutide Injections are right for me?

If you're overweight or obese, with a BMI greater than 27, and have struggled with weight loss, Semaglutide may be a solution for you. A consultation and blood work are initially required by our medical team before approving for Semaglutide treatment.

Do Semaglutide treatments replace the need to eat healthy or work out?
Semaglutide is not intended to replace regular exercise or eating healthy. Our recommendation is to exercise with low impact activities at least three times per week. Eating healthy and regular exercise will only add to your weight loss benefits and foster a healthy and happy body and mind.

Would the weight loss be permanent?
It is imperative to eat healthy and exercise regularly, despite being on Semaglutide. Once off the medication weight gain is expected in the majority of patients and will depend on the patient's lifestyle choices.

Who wouldn't be a candidate?
Those who have a personal or family history of thyroid cancer, have a personal or family history of multiple endocrine neoplasia, are taking any diabetic medications, are not candidates for this medication. The doctor will require blood work analysis first, to ensure the levels are normal and to rule out any potential further contraindications.
